working for a sustainable future

The transition movement is a community-based response to the twin challenges of peak oil and climate change.

Its premise is that communities must do something for themselves to accommodate these changes.

Following a public meeting in the Autumn of 2008 a steering group was formed to take matters forward on behalf of Lavenham and the surrounding villages.

This group has now formulated a programme of action for Transition Lavenham and is now confident that, with public support, a difference can be made.

More information about transition can be found on the Transition East web site.
